Totally Kyoto is a new, independent index of the city — built the way a reference site should be, not a blog feed. Every guide is filed into a department (Plan, Stay, Districts, Temples & Shrines, Culture, Food, Seasons) so you can find the specific thing you need rather than scrolling through posts.

Why we're starting small

We'd rather launch with a small number of genuinely useful, carefully written guides than a large number of thin ones. This first version covers the essentials in each department — first-time orientation, getting around, one district done properly, one major temple, core etiquette, one food guide, and both of Kyoto's signature seasons.

What's next

New guides are added weekly, usually two or three at a time: more districts, more temples and shrines, a proper stay-by-area breakdown, and a growing food and culture section. The goal, over time, is full coverage of the city — every district, every major sight, kept current rather than written once and left.
